Condolences
Like a few people who have already left a message, I too have just found out about his passing. I have been going to journal square Cohen's since 1994 (I was 14) because of Dr. O'kane. He was my favorite doctor. We would talk about our experiences attending Rutgers College...and our hope for Rutgers athletics (primarily football). He was also interested in my career when I graduated college. I moved out of town and didn't get to go to there as often as I should.
I called to make an appointment and inquired about Dr. O'kane, I was then informed of his passing. My condolences. A great man.
It's comes to my attention and with a heavy heart that my family Ophthalmologist
is no longer with us. my family and I want to always remember Dr.Thomas C. O'Kane for being the best and the most kind person and one of the best ophthalmologist ever we will always remember you.
I know it has been two years but I just heard about Dr. O’Kane’s passing. He was myself, my mother, and my sisters eye doctor for more than 10 years. He was a great man, one of the nicest and most trustworthy doctors that I have ever had. Rest in peace Doctor, thank you for everything.
My condolence to family and friends. I’m so sad to hear of his passing. I’m still in sock. Dr. O’Kane has been my eye doctor since I was 10 years old. I’m 38 and just called to make my yearly appointment to hear this sad news. I missed last years appointment. Although I moved a few years back I traveled because he was the best optometrist.
I’m just learning about Tom’s passing. He was always looking to help better my own optometry practice with his wisdom. He will be missed.
Tom, Lauri, Taylor and family,
Our hearts are once again broken in a million pieces as we grieve and mourn the loss of Tom with you. May he rest in the arms of Jesus and may you one day feel God's peace which passes all understanding.
We love you,
Laura and Richard

I remember Tommy mostly from our youth, one of the first friends I made when I joined the Cadets. I do not have one memory from that time that does not include Tommy in it, mostly because they were fun moments in time and he was good for that. I know many years have passed since we saw each other last, but when you're friends from drum corp, you are friends for life, we are all a family. Please accept my heartfelt condolences on this loss. I know Tommy wouldn't want us to cry, but it's hard not to. Thank you Tom for 40+ years of smiles.
Doctor Okane was not only an amazing doctor but a father figure to Many of us. We were together for 8-10hrs a day 6 days a week . He was always loving and kind to all of his staff . Not once did he yell or treat us bad no matter what . He treated us like his children supporting our ideas and giving us advice throughs daily life challenges . I met him 10 years ago and he was always the same. One of the strongest most inspirational human being that you will ever meet . His patients adore him most of which waited for him to be only be seen by him. He was one in a million. Today that he's no longer with us, but we all will remember everything we learned from him . Thank you for giving me the greatest 10 years of my life. Your love and your example will never be forgotten . We love you so much . You will be forever in our hearts .

My deepest condolences to the entire O'Kane family and friends of Dr. Tom O'Kane. He was the light of everybody's life he touched, always a kind word, a caring gesture and a warm smile. God has gained an angel but we have lost a Superstar. Rest In Peace, Tommy. With a heavy heart, Dr. Denise Whittam and Schechter family, and Steven Borsack and family. We will miss this wonderful man.
To the family and close friends of Thomas. I certainly offer my condolences to you in your time of loss. I never met Thomas but wanted to share with you something he did for my family. My son had marched with the Cadets in 2010 and wanted to return to march with them in 2011. At this point in my life I was struggling to make ends meet and did not have enough funds to pay for my son's tour fees for the upcoming year. Thomas not only paid these remaining fees for my son, but continued to help him over the next couple of years. The only stipulation was that he wanted to do this anonymously. It wasn't till later that I found out his identity. I wish I had a chance to meet him and thank him properly for his generous gift to my son. The Cadets did end up winning the World Championship in 2011 and had it not been for Thomas, my son would have missed out on this incedible experience. The world needs more people like Thomas.. RIP
Please accept my sincerest condolences for the loss of Tommy. My heart is broken for you all and I wish I could be there in person support you all at this time. I will keep you all in my heart and prayers and ask for strength at this very difficult time. This tribute was incredibly beautiful and I thank you for sharing your memories of Tommy with us all. I love you all very much!! xoxo
