Obituary of Hong Kim Vu

Hong Kim Vu, 80, of Howell passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township.  Hong was born in Vietnam and fled with his family during the war.  He raised his family in Metuchen and took up residence in Howell in 2009.  He was a computer programmer for Exxon Mobil, Edison prior to his retirement in 2003.  Hong loved playing cards and was the life of the party.  He enjoyed doing things around the house and carpentry work. 

Hong is survived by his loving wife of nearly 50 years, Diep Vu; son, Hao Vu and his wife, Trang of Hillsborough; daughters, Kim Morales and her husband, Anthony of Howell and Susane Kitt and her husband, John of Howell; six grandchildren, Tyler Vu, Aidan Vu, Amel Morales, Leela Morales, Felix Morales and John Kitt, III; and extended family members.

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, October 13, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 9:00 AM funeral service at the funeral home on Saturday, October 14, 2017.  Procession to the crematory will follow.
