Obituary of Michael A. Spero
Michael A. Spero, 76, of Freehold Township passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at home. He was born and raised in Passaic, and had lived in Hazlet before taking up residence in Freehold Township in 1975. A graduate of Passaic High School Class of 1958, Michael was a veteran of the US Army having served in the Vietnam War. Prior to his retirement in 1991, he worked as a computer engineer for Unisys in Freehold Township. A car enthusiast, he enjoyed going to Atlantic City and New York City. When his kids were growing up, Michael had a boat and was an avid fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia S. Spero in 2010. Michael is survived by his sons, Michael James Spero Jr. and his wife, Peggy from Audubon, Marcus Brent Spero and his wife, Stephanie of Media, PA, and Jason Patrick Spero of Freehold Township; daughter, Cynthia Marie Spero of Pittsburgh, PA; four grandchildren, Jacob Black, Nicole Sulikowski, Kylie Spero and Reagan Spero; brother, Joseph Spero and family of Bloomfield; and his significant other, Marianne Coleman.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, October 27, 2017 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM with his funeral service to follow at 1:30 PM. Inurnment will be in Brigadier General Wm. C. Doyle NJ Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown.
