I knew Max through working at the Youth Center. He enjoyed being involved with all of the other kids in dodgeball, hanging out, and having fun at the West Belmar gym, and at the Youth Center.
I always enjoyed his speaking Russian when he wanted to be authoritative! He seemed a gentle soul, but also had a fierce independence just waiting to be affirmed. The demons of our times may have derailed him occasionally, but he would laugh and go on. I do not know if those demons finally caught him or not. I will pray for him and his family. Another good guy gone too soon.
