Obituary of Jeffrey F. Louro

Dr. Jeffrey F. Louro, 48, of Jackson passed away at his residence surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, October 28, 2017.  Born in Neptune, he was raised and lived in Freehold Township before settling in Jackson to raise his family.  A graduate of the Freehold Township High School Class of 1987 where he lettered in basketball and football, Jeff continued his education at Florida State University and received his doctorate from Life Chiropractic College, Marietta, GA.  The owner and operator of Louro Chiropractic Center, he took great pride and passion taking care of his patients for over 24 years.  Jeff volunteered as a coach for his son’s Jackson Pop Warner and AYF teams, and was an avid Steelers fan.  His hobbies included golfing and playing rugby at Life Chiropractic.  Jeff was a gentle giant, well-loved by everyone who crossed his path and will be missed by all who knew him.  A powerful presence, he was a compassionate man whose favorite pastime was to be with his wife and children, and to make his annual trip to the Outer Banks, NC.   

He was predeceased by his mother, Frances M. Louro in 2013; brother, Dr. John Louro in 1994; sister, Jean M. Louro in 2010; and sister-in-law, Vicki Louro in 2013.  Jeff is survived by his wife of 21 years, Dawn M. Louro; children, Ashley Louro, Trevor Louro, Kaysie Louro and Krista Louro; father, Joseph A. Louro of Wall; brothers, Dr. Joseph J. Louro  and his wife, Priscilla of Wall, and Dr. Jim Louro and his wife, Judy of Wall; in-laws, Charles and Barbara Lombardo of Howell; brothers-in-law, Brian Lombardo and his wife, Jacqueline of Brick, Rick Lombardo and his wife, Loralie of Jackson; sister-in-law, Janet Louro Devito and her husband, Frank of Freehold Township; numerous nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins; and too many loving friends to name.

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, November 3, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township on Saturday, November 4, 2017.  Entombment will follow in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery, 299 Freehold-Englishtown Road, Freehold Township.  For those who desire, remembrances in memory of this remarkable man may be made to the Jackson Township Scholarship Foundation, In Memory of Dr. Jeffrey F.
