We celebrate the life of Doris this holiday season. She was a warm, caring, and lovely friend of my mother, Irene Bates, whom we dearly miss since her passing on Sept. 24, 2016, in Mt. Juliet, TN.
Doris wrote letters for many years to my Mom in her "perfect penmanship." I re-read several of her Christmas cards and correspondence to her at both their favorite time of year.
Doris loved to bake pies and cookies for family, and give presents to others. She wrote pages and pages about her loved ones during the holidays. She would always send Gudeposts to my Mom, who would share those with me.
My parents were of the greatest generation from World War II, where they met Doris' late husband Rusty who was on maneuvers in Tennessee during the 1940s in the Armed Forces. They re-connected like old friends who never parted later.
Thank you, Doris, for blessing us all. Peace and Grace.
