Obituary of Eleni Kyriakoulis

Eleni Kyriakoulis, 69, of Brick fell asleep in the Lord on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Ocean Medical Center, Brick.  Born in Istanbul, Turkey, she came to the United States in 1956 with the help of her aunt and uncle.  She lived in Union City and Lakewood before settling in Brick in 2010.  She was a loving wife, mother and yia yia.  Eleni loved to cook authentic Greek food, was a part of Goya at Ascension Greek Orthodox Church in Fairview, and enjoyed the Greek festivals at St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church in Toms River.  Her life will be measured by the impact she had on her grandchildren.  May her memory be eternal.

She was predeceased by her parents, George and Stella Galis; husband, George Kyriakoulis; uncle, Elias Sarafis; and aunt, Stamatia Sarafis.   Eleni is survived by her sons, Kyriakos Kyriakoulis and his wife, Yulia of Fargo, ND, and Peter Kyriakoulis and his wife, Keri of Jackson; daughter, Maria Kyriakoulis of New Milford; grandchildren, Jordan, Athena, Preston, Roman and Kira; and brother, Nick Galis of Greece.

Visitation and Trisagion will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 from 5:00 to 9:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 9:00 AM viewing on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church, 2200 Church Road, Toms River with her funeral service commencing at 10:00 AM.  Interment will follow in Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent Road, Manalapan.  For information, directions or condolence messages to the family, visit www.claytonfuneralhome.com
