Obituary of Gioconda Gambale

Gioconda Gambale, 97, of Howell passed away peacefully at home on Friday, January 12, 2018.  She was born in Castelvetere, Italy and moved to Brooklyn in 1965.  Mrs. Gambale settled in Howell in 2000 where she remained until the time of her passing.  She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.  Gioconda was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Giovanni Gambale in 1971; daughter, Filomena Gambale in 1997; and son, Angelo Gambale in 2009.  Gioconda is survived by her daughter, Lina Buzio and her husband, Joseph of Howell; two grandchildren, Rosemarie Derby and her husband, Patrick of Freehold Township, and Jon Peter Buzio of Howell; and two great grandchildren, Steven Derby and Kayla Derby. 

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, January 15, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to gather at 9:00 AM on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 for the procession to her 10:00  AM Funeral Mass at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township.  Interment will follow at St. Charles Cemetery, 2015 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale, Long Island.  For those who desire, contributions in memory of Mrs. Gambale may be made to American Cancer Society, 2310 Route 34, Suite 1D, Manasquan, NJ  08736.  For information, directions or condolence messages to the family, visit www.claytonfuneralhome.com
