Candles
Aunt Patty, I am glad I was able to see you one last time to say goodbye. My entire childhood includes memories of you. I spent every weekend, holiday, birthday and special occasion with you. You could always count on Patty to be at the party. You were there for me throughout my life. You will always be a special person in my heart. You were a strong and resilient lady with a great sense of humor. I cherish all my memories with you and I promise you to always be there for Bridget and your grandchildren.
Patty,
I missed you before you were gone. I wish I could turn back time, just let you know everything I should have told you when I had the chance. I can only pray that you know how much I loved, respected and appreciated you. We had gone through some rough times together and you were my port in the storm when I needed someone to help me get though. You were a second mother to me and I could never thank you enough for all you have done. I loved you then, I love you now, and will continue to love you, until we meet again.
Love and respectfully,
Janet
Dear Nana,
I'm so happy that we have so many spectacular memories together, it is sad they had to end, but it is better that you are not in pain anymore. I remember in the summertime you took Erik outside everyday for at least an hour or two, I wanted to spend time with you guys also, but the summertime is not my scene, so I would join you guys for about ten minutes then feel the need to go inside. I feel like the reason I am not crying every day is because I understand you have fulfilled your purpose or goals in life, that's sort of a grey area because I do not know what your goals in life were. But, I know that you did not suffer long and you got to be in peace in your last moments. I especially love the fact that you were not about to let the hospital take your life, you did it all by yourself. I know I get my stubbornness from you. You worked hard for all your life, I wish I got you a better Christmas gift than a mug with a frog meme on it.
Love,
Shauna
Nana,
I miss you so much. I am so honored to be named after you and I hope that one day I can be nearly as strong as you were. Thank you for helping to raise me into the person I am today. Thank you for helping me when I needed it. Thank you for working until a month ago to make sure that my family had everything that we needed. Thank you for inspiring me to pursue my dreams and attend college. Thank you for supporting me when I needed help with tuition and groceries at school. Thank you for smiling and telling me you were proud of me.
I keep waiting for you to come out of your room so I can talk to you. I wish I could have spent more time with you and I really hope you realize how much I appreciated you, even though I hardly told you. I do not know how I am going to get through the next few months and every big moment in my life without you there to witness it, but I will think of you every day. I love you.
Love,
Tricia
