Obituary of Richard T. Koping
Richard T. Koping, 69, of Freehold Township passed away at home on Tuesday, January 23, 2018. He was born in Newark, raised in Roselle Park and had lived in Carteret and Woodbridge before settling in Freehold Township in 1986. A 1970 graduate of St. Peter’s College where he was a member of the Pi Lambda Tau Fraternity, Richard last worked as an Assistant Product Manager for Tokio Marine Management in New York. He was a sports fan, particularly his Cowboys and Mets, and enjoyed golfing. A travel enthusiast, Richard especially loved cruises and was approaching his 19th cruise with his wife since 1999. He loved spending time with his family and friends, and treasured his grandchildren.
Richard is survived by his wife, Kathleen Ringwood Koping of Freehold Township; children, Thomas Koping and his wife, Margaret of Howell, Robert Koping and his wife, Rachel of Bremerton, WA, and Patrick Koping and his wife, Joanna of Howell; and seven grandchildren, Connor, Sean, Kyle, Kaitlyn, Roman, Abigail and Aurora.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524) Freehold Township on Friday, January 26, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at 9:30 AM at the funeral home on Saturday, January 27, 2018 for the procession to his 10:30 AM Funeral Mass at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township. Entombment will follow in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery, 299 Freehold Englishtown Road, Freehold Township.
