Obituary of Rosaria "Sadie" Mazza
Rosaria “Sadie” Mazza, 84, of Doylestown, PA passed away suddenly on Tuesday, January 23, 2018. She was born and raised in Brooklyn, moved to Freehold in 2000 and settled in Doylestown last year. Prior to her retirement, she was a cafeteria manager for the NYC Board of Education for 17 years. She belonged to a book club, and played pinochle, rummy and bingo at her retirement community, Pine Run. Sadie enjoyed frequenting Atlantic City, and spending time with her family. Affectionately known as “MeMaw”, she took great pride in her children and grandchildren. A strong woman who held strong convictions, Sadie loved getting together for meals, going to Wegman’s with her husband and shopping at Walmart.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Philip A. Mazza in 2017; and her son, John P. Mazza in 2013. She is survived by her son, Victor Mazza and his wife, Victoria of Doylestown, PA; daughter, Camille Mazza of Middletown; daughter-in-law, Victoria Mazza of Malvern, PA; four grandchildren, Daniel Mazza and his wife, Alison of Needham, MA, Christopher Mazza and his wife, Caroline of Chester Springs, PA, Marisa Mazza of Doylestown, PA and Matthew Mazza, also of Doylestown, PA; and four great grandchildren, Philip, Henry, Emelia and Molly.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, January 28, 2018 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at 10:15 AM at the funeral home on Monday, January 29, 2018 for the procession to her 11:15 AM Funeral Mass at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township. Interment will follow at Brigadier General Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road, Arneytown.
