Obituary of Joan Valdora

Joan Valdora, 85, of Freehold passed away on Friday, January 26, 2018 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born and raised in Jersey City, she settled to Freehold 20 years ago. Joan was a medical biller in Dr. Rao’s office, Bayonne for 10 years. She enjoyed playing Bingo, traveling, trips to Atlantic City and was an active member in The Village. Joan found great joy in family life, cooking Italian dishes and hosting holidays with her family. Joan will be remembered as a proud mother and grandmother.

She was predeceased by her husband, James V. Valdora in 2006. Joan is survived by her children, Geralyn Valdora of Freehold, James Valdora of FL, Robert Valdora of Belmar, and Jacqueline Evangelista and her husband, Peter of Manalapan; and her six grandchildren, Christine, Jennifer, Robert, Nicole, Danielle and Peter.

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at 9:00 AM for the procession to her 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township. Interment will follow in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road, Arneytown.
