Obituary of Dominick S. Fidilio

Dominick S. Fidilio, 80, of Jackson passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, February 5, 2018.  He was born in Sicily and moved to the United States when he was 15 years old.  Dominick lived in Brooklyn prior to settling in Jackson in 2005.  After serving in the United States Army, he worked in various positions before becoming a computer programmer for Hertz Corp., New York, NY.  Dominick was a proud member of the Italian American Club in both Brooklyn and Jackson as well as the VFW in Jackson.  A musically talented man, he loved Italian music, singing Andrea Bocelli, and playing the piano, organ and saxophone.  Dominick was a member of the band Saash, and he and his wife performed as Mimo & Company.  He was a giving person who took great pride in gardening and his fig tree. 

Dominick is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Sally Fidilio of Jackson; two daughters, Maria Phonchamreun and her husband, Suphy, and Gilda Hansen and her husband, Ronald, all of Jackson; and six grandchildren, Kristina, Brittany, Alyssa, Brandon, Keira and Kai. 

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at 9:00 AM for the procession to his 11:30 AM graveside service at Resurrection Cemetery, 361 Sharrot Avenue, Staten Island.
