Obituary of Salim Benmahidi

Salim Benmahidi, 58, of Howell, passed away suddenly on February 12, 2018.  Salim was born and raised in Constantine, Algeria.  He came to the Unites States in July of 1995 and was proud to become a US citizen on December 29, 2006.  Salim worked for NJ Transit and was a member of the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 824 since November of 2001.  

His greatest joy in life was watching his son play hockey, taking him to New York for the Auto Show and to see the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center. 

Salim is survived by his beloved wife and son, Stephanie Benmahidi and Jason Benmahidi, both of Howell; his mother and eight siblings overseas; and Stephanie’s extended family.
