Obituary of Helen Steinecke
Helen Steinecke, 97, of Farmingdale passed away on Friday, March 9, 2018 at home. She was born and raised in Brooklyn and had settled in Farmingdale over 50 years ago. Helen worked as an assembler for Air Cruisers in Wall Township. She was a private person but cared for everyone. Helen loved animals and gardening.
Helen was predeceased by her husband, George Steinecke in 2005 and son, Arthur “Butchie” Bitz in 2017. She is survived by her sister, June Hankel of Farmingdale; nieces, Maryann Cullen of Freehold and Patricia LaCoste of Lake Como, and Stephanie Floberg of Norway; nephews, George Hankel of Howell and Jeffery Hankel of Naples, FL; friends, Elizabeth McDonough and Jonnelle Ulbin of Howell; great nieces and nephews; and care giver Laura Mintenko.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at 8:15 AM for the procession to her 9:30 AM Funeral Mass at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 31 Asbury Road, Farmingdale 07727. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Farmingdale. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Helen’s name to St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church.
