Obituary of Gerald J. Nunziato, Jr.
Gerald J. Nunziato, Jr., 67, of Freehold Township, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was born in Somerville, raised in Bound Brook, and moved here 23 years ago. Gerald had worked for American Cyanamid in Bound Brook then at Merck & Co. in Rahway and retired from their corporate headquarters in Whitehouse Station after 32 years of dedicated years. He honorably served the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Gerald volunteered at Monmouth County Court House, where he earned the Volunteer of the Year Award and CentraState Medical Center. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Gerald was an avid golfer, people person, joke-teller, and loved laughter.
Gerald is survived by his wife Rose Nunziato of Freehold Township; a daughter, Stacie Nunziato and her boyfriend, Martin of Pascoag, RI; a son, Joseph J. Nunziato and his wife, Jessica of Metuchen; two grandchildren, Gianna and Christopher; and mother-in-law, Rosina Attanasio of Morganville.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, April 2, 2018 from 3:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 8:45 AM for his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass procession to St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 16 McLean Street, Freehold, NJ 07728. Entombment will follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery, 53 Inman Avenue, Colonia, NJ 07067.
