Obituary of George Frank Angelini
George F. Angelini, 88, of Freehold Township passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born and raised in the Bronx to the late, Achille and Antoinette Angelini, he lived in Hazlet, Howell, Vero Beach, FL and Leland, NC before moving to Freehold in 2014. A United States Army veteran, he served his country during the Korean War as an MP in Germany. George enjoyed playing golf and tennis and was a world-wide traveler. He loved to fly as a private pilot. George was owner of GAR Associates Inc., Hazlet until his retirement in 1992. With prior sales experience in the steel industry, selling thread rod and bar steel in the North East. He started his sales career in appliances with VIM stores in the Bronx.
He was predeceased by his wife, Claire Zimmerman Angelini; his daughter, Claudia Bates; and siblings, Joe, Delores and Harry. George is survived by his children, Pamela Boyle and her husband, Lawrence of Douglasville, PA, Suzanne Skene and her husband, James of Bayville, Dr. Kenneth Kurica and his wife, Marty of Colorado Springs, CO, and Virginia Guerry of Wilmington, NC; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Laura Corina of Westerly, RI and Annette Calbo of Del Rey Beach, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, April 5, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM with his memorial service to follow at the funeral home.
