Obituary of Domenica Chiricolo
Domenica Chiricolo, 70, of Normandy Beach passed away at home on Saturday, March 31, 2018. She was born and raised in Spilinga in the Italian region of Calabria. Upon arrival to the States, she lived with her family in Irvington before marrying the love of her life and moving to Bayonne. Domenica was the proud co-owner of Fontana Pizzeria in Bayonne prior to her retirement to Normandy Beach in 2005. A woman of strong faith, her main focus was her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, dancing and going to the gym. Domenica also loved going to the beach. She was a special person and touched the lives of all who met her as they were instantly enamored by her charming way.
Domenica is survived by her adoring husband of 50 years, Cuono Chiricolo of Normandy Beach; children, Ersilia Landino and her husband, Gene, Dr. Gerardo Chiricolo and his wife, Heather, and Dr. Antonio Chiricolo and his wife, Nikki; and nine grandchildren, Gene, Nico, Gia, Chiara, Cuono Luca, Siena, Antonio, Leo, Cristiano, and a tenth grandson expected in June; her sister, Annunziata Brienza; and her brothers, Antonio Rizzo and Giuseppe Rizzo. She is predeceased by her Parents, Antonio and Cecilia Rizzo, Grandson Leo Landino and a brother, Francesco Rizzo.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 from 4:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 9:30 AM Funeral Mass at the Church of St. Veronica, 4215 Route 9 North, Howell on Wednesday, April 4, 2018. Entombment will follow in Hollywood Memorial Park, 1500 Stuyvesant Avenue, Union.
