Obituary of Marianna Ruggiero

Marianna Ruggiero, 88, of Freehold passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2018 surrounded by her loving immediate family at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. She was born and raised in New York City.  Marianna had lived in Lodi most of her life before settling in Surrey Downs 17 years ago.  She worked for Metropolitan Life in New York City before becoming a homemaker and raising her family.  Marianna was a member of the VFW Auxiliary of Lodi and the Rosary Altar Society at St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church.  She was also a eucharistic minister at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, Freehold Township and St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church, Lodi.

Marianna was predeceased by her husband, Salvatore Ruggiero in 1999, and daughter, Geraldine DeLucia in 1997.  She is survived by her son, Michael and his wife, Lisa of Freehold Township; son-in-law, Joseph DeLucia of Keansburg; and grandchildren, Michael Ruggiero, Jr., Michelle Panzarino and her husband, Anthony, Brian Ruggiero, and Jillian Ruggiero.  

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, April 29, 2018 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Monday, April 30, 2018 at 8:45 AM for the procession to her 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township.  Interment will follow in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery, 125 Union Street, Lodi.  For information, directions, or condolence messages to the family visit www.claytonfuneralhome.com.
