Obituary of Wyatt Roger Cavanagh

Wyatt Roger Cavanagh of Farmingdale passed away peacefully on Friday, May 4th at home surrounded by his loving family.  Wyatt defied the odds before he was even brought into this world on July 28, 2014 in the Special Delivery Unit at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and has continued to do so many times in his 3.5 years, earning him one of many nicknames as Warrior Wyatt.   Wyatt’s short time here on earth was not always easy or beautiful, but even during times of struggle, he persevered.

Since the memories that cost the most are the ones you don’t make, Wyatt and his family embarked on as many adventures as possible that often led them to the warm waters of Spanish Wells where Wyatt came alive in the salt water of the Atlantic or Florida and South Carolina, and where snuggling with his mom after long days playing in pools with his cousins would wear him out.  Though unable to view the world the same way most others do, Wyatt was able to enjoy so much of what his family and friends had to offer, especially kisses, cotton candy, whipped cream and most of all, being tickled.  His smile could light up the darkest corner of any room and it will be missed immensely by those who love him.

Wyatt is survived by his parents, Kevin and Donna Cavanagh of Farmingdale; siblings, Cecelia and Waylon; paternal grandmother, Susan Morgan and her husband, Steve of Wading River; maternal grandfather, Bill Gaglione and his wife, Kimberly of Franklin Park; maternal grandmother, Linda Francis and her husband, Al Akus of the Poconos, PA; paternal great grandmother, Eleanor Manger of Jackson; aunts, Meghann Cavanagh and Deborah Ryan; uncles, Michael Gaglione and his wife, Kelli and Gregory Gaglione; cousins, Joseph, Julianna, Nicholas, Luca, Emma, Devin, Olivia and Georgia; and many, many more loving family members.

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township, on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM with his funeral service to follow.  Interment will be private.  For those who desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Pediatric Hydrocephalus Foundation, 10 Main Street, Suite 335, Woodbridge, NJ 07095 or at www.hydrocephaluskids.org.  For more information, directions or condolence messages to the family, visit www.claytonfuneralhome.com.
