Obituary of Charles A. Davison, Jr.
Charles A. “Buddy” Davison, Jr., 70, of Howell Township passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Buddy was born in Neptune and raised in Jamesburg. He had lived in East Brunswick before moving to Howell Twp. in 1978. Buddy retired as a switcher for Home Depot, Cranbury. He previously worked at Polysar Rubber Services, East Brunswick and J.B. Hunt. Buddy served his community as a Life Member, former President, and Exempt Member of the Freewood Acres Fire Company. He also served as a Fire Commissioner for Howell Twp. District 5 for over twenty years. Buddy was a man’s man, who loved to hunt and saltwater fish.
He was predeceased by his parents, Charles A., Sr. and Sarah Archer Davison; his in-laws, Robert J. and Ann C. Schetrumpf; brother, Fred Megill, Jr.; and a sister-in-law, Sandra L. Mariano. Buddy is survived by his wife of fifty years, Norma Davison; two sons, Charles A. Davison, III and his wife, Michelle of Point Pleasant and Robert H. Davison and his fiancée, Margaret O’Hagan of Lodi; five grandchildren, Russell Cooper, Joyelle Cooper, Holly Cooper, Charles A. Davison, IV and Robert H. Davison, Jr.; three great grandchildren, Laylah, Makayla, and James; his faithful canine companion, King; three sisters, Maryjane Price, Sarah Catherine Megill and her husband, Robert, and Brenda Megill; brother-in-law, Joseph Mariano and family; sister-in-law, Barbara Schmidt and her husband, Willie Ray and family; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Saturday, May 12, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:30 PM with his funeral service to follow at 4:30 PM.
