Obituary of James Kelly Ringwood

James Kelly Ringwood, 73, of Freehold Township passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Wedgwood Gardens, Freehold Twp.  Jim was born in Elizabeth, raised in Carteret, and had lived in Woodbridge, Freehold Twp. and Howell Twp.  He received his bachelor’s degree from St. Peter’s College, Jersey City.  Jim was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving in the Vietnam War.  He retired as the Personnel Director for Woodbridge Twp. in 2006 after twenty-six dedicated years of service.  A passionate volunteer, Jim gave his time to the Hyacinth Aids Foundation in New Brunswick. 

Jim was predeceased by his parents, Jack and Clare Ringwood; a brother, Thomas Ringwood; and a brother-in-law, Richard Koping.  He is survived by his siblings, Kathleen Koping of Freehold Township, Patricia Monahan and her husband, Joseph of Neptune and Brian Ringwood and his wife, MaryLu of Clayton, NC; and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews.

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, May 14, 2018 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM.  Interment will follow with Military Honors in Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle NJ Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 350 Provinceline Road, Arneytown.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hyacinth Aids Foundation, 317 George St., Suite 203, New Brunswick, NJ 08901.  For information, directions or condolence messages to the family, visit www.claytonfuneralhome.com.
