Obituary of Richard Jerome Peters
Richard Jerome Peters, 64, of Plainsboro, NJ transitioned peacefully from earth to eternal life on Friday, May 11, 2018 in the Princeton Medical Center, Plainsboro, NJ. Richard was born on December 13, 1953 in Alamogordo, New Mexico and grew up in Neptune, NJ. He was the youngest child of the late Enoch Neel Peters, Sr. and Lauretta Hall-Peters.
Richard loved attending church and was a member of Faith Fellowship Ministries World Outreach Center, Sayreville, NJ. Richard attended the Neptune Public School System and graduated from Neptune High School. He obtained a B.S. degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Nebraska School of Pharmacy in 1977 where he graduated with the honor status of cum laude.
Richard was an outstanding track star in high school and college. He was an avid music buff, loved to travel and was a dog owner. Richard worked as a pharmacist for St. Francis Medical Center in Trenton and the Veteran Administration Hospital in East Orange, NJ.
He leaves to celebrate his homegoing and to cherish his memory his brother, Dr. Enoch Neel Peters, Jr. and his wife, Dr. Teresa E. Peters of Atlanta, GA; niece, Janine E. James and her husband, Lowell James along with their daughters, Alaina and Amya James of Atlanta, GA; niece, Deirdre L. Kemp and her husband, Gamal Kemp and their daughter Makayla of Atlanta, GA; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Saturday, May 19, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 11:00 AM graveside service at Monmouth Memorial Park, Route 33, Tinton Falls on Monday, May 21, 2018.
