Obituary of Thomas Luke Corcoran

Thomas Luke Corcoran, 57, of Howell passed away at home on Thursday, May 17, 2018.  He was born in New Brunswick and raised in Edison. Thomas had lived in East Brunswick and New Brunswick before settling in Howell in 1993.  A lover of the ocean, he was known as Captain Tom, and could always be found fishing, boating, or spending time on cruises with his loving wife.  Thomas also enjoyed bird watching, spending time with his dogs, and gambling at the Borgata. 

Thomas was predeceased by his father, Robert Corcoran in 1995; mother, Lucille Corcoran in 2002; brothers, Jimmy Corcoran in 1987 and Bobby Corcoran in 2014; and his dog, Comet.  He is survived by his adoring wife of 25 years, Mary Corcoran of Freehold; sisters, Barbara Wright and her husband, Dave of Surf City, Peggy Burns of Whiting, Mary Schilling and her husband, Eric of North Carolina, Teresa Nolan and her husband, Patrick of Toms River, and Lucille Manzella and partner, Frank Pisani of Toms River; brothers, William Corcoran and his wife, Mae of Milltown and Michael Corcoran and Clavell Phillip of Spotswood; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews; and his furry friends, Astro and Tiffany.

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, May 20, 2018 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 10:30 AM Funeral Mass on Monday, May 21, 2018 at the Church of St. Veronica, 4215 Route 9, Howell.  Interment will follow in St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery, Lakewood.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Thomas’ name to Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America, 355 Lexington Avenue, 15th Floor New York, New York 10017.  For information, directions, or condolence messages to the family, visit www.claytonfuneralhome.com.
