Irene Poulsen, 97, of Howell passed away on Monday, May 28, 2018 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. She was born in Perth Amboy and raised in Fords. Irene lived in Perth Amboy and Woodbridge before settling in Howell in 1984. She worked for PSE&G, Elizabeth and Dr. Fine in Perth Amboy before becoming the Vice President of Marketing at National State Bank, Edison. Irene was a member of the Woman’s Club, Perth Amboy and President of the Hospital Guild for Perth Amboy Hospital.
Irene was predeceased by her husband, Edward Poulsen in 1999; a brother; and three sisters. She is survived by her son, Dean Poulsen of Howell; and three grandchildren, Christopher Poulsen and his fiancé, Jessica Weimer of Trappe, PA, Aura Posner and her husband, Richard of Bluffton, SC, and Tamar Poulsen and Christopher Rowland of New York City.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home (Route 524), Freehold Township, on Monday, June 4, 2018 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM with her funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM.
