Obituary of Theresa A. Potenza

Theresa A. Potenza, 91, of Freehold Township passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township.  She was born and raised in Newark, lived in Union and Edison for some time, and eventually settled in Freehold Township in 2005.  Theresa worked as an executive assistant for Great West Life Insurance Co. in Newark for over 25 years.  She volunteered her time at JFK Hospital and was a driving instructor for AARP Driver Refresher Program.  Her hobbies included gardening and she was a former president of Metuchen Gardening Club.  Theresa also enjoyed shopping and reading, and was a world traveler. 

Theresa is survived by her two adoring brothers, Sam Potenza of Point Pleasant and Peter Potenza of Freehold Township; two nephews, Michael Potenza and Daniel Potenza; and her niece, Christine Campbell. 

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 from 9:00 to 11:30 AM with her funeral service to follow.  Interment will follow in St. Gertrude’s Cemetery, Woodbridge Township.  For information, directions or condolence messages to the family, visit www.claytonfuneralhome.com
