Obituary of Marie A. "Ann" Spera
Marie A. “Ann” Spera, 90, of Freehold passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold. She was born in Newark and had lived in Brooklyn before moving to Freehold in 1997. Ann was a homemaker and always had an open-door policy. She enjoyed to crochet, sew, and work on crossword puzzles. Most of all, Ann loved to cook for her family and was known as the “eggplant lady.”
Ann was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Rosario G. “Jerry” Spera in 2002. She is survived by her children, Teresa Spera of Sayreville, and Patricia Riehl and her husband, Brian of Freehold; niece, Linda Pagliaro of Nutley; and many nieces, a nephew, great nieces, a great nephew, a great great niece, and a great great nephew.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, June 4, 2018 and Tuesday, June 5, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 10:15 AM Funeral Mass at the Basilica of Regina Pacis, 1230 65th St, Brooklyn, NY. Entombment will follow in Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn, New York.
