Obituary of Cheeyen Yap
Cheeyen Yap, 39, of Farmingdale passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2018. He was born and raised in Malaysia, Asia and had lived in Brooklyn before settling in Farmingdale 11 years ago. Cheeyen graduated from Hofstra University where he excelled academically. After graduation, he interned at Deloitte & Touche, and upon his promotion to Senior Manager, Cheeyen moved on to Publicis Media where he eventually rose to the position of Vice President. A sports enthusiast, he was a Giants and Mets fan, able to call the plays before the sportscasters could. Cheeyen shared his love of sports with his family bringing them to events including Knicks, Mets and Giants games, and the US Open Tennis Championship. His hobbies included mountain biking and golfing. He was a hard worker, an adoring father, and beloved husband. Cheeyen enjoyed teaching his boys how to ride bikes and how to play basketball. He was gifted with superior intelligence and ambition.
Cheeyen is survived by his wife of 18 years, Tina Yap; children, Christopher and Andrew Yap.
