Obituary of George F. Smith

George F. Smith, 55, of Freehold passed away on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at home.  He was born and raised in Staten Island and settled in Freehold in 1997.  George was a hard worker and worked as an auto technician at Open Road Mercedes of Bridgewater.  He was a dedicated New York Jets and Mets fan and enjoyed golfing.  George could always be found tending to his garden and simply loved life.  Most of all, he was a devoted father, loving husband, and caring brother and uncle.

George is survived by his son, Vincent P. Smith of Los Angeles, CA; soul mate, Grace Marie Tuttobene-Smith of Freehold; father-in-law, Filippo Tuttobene of Freehold; nieces, Danielle Mistretta, Gianna Smith, and Ava Mistretta of Staten Island; niece and goddaughter, Adriana Mistretta of Staten Island; mother, Joan Smith-Cruz of Hudson, NY; and siblings, Donna M. Smith and her wife, Beverly A. Mitchell of Orlando, Florida, Denise A. Sanyshyn of Staten Island, Gerard G. Smith and his wife, Maria of Staten Island, Dawn A. Cavalcante and her husband, Robert of Staten Island, and Doreen A. Smith of Hudson. He is predeceased by his father, Gerald Smith and mother-in-law, Angela Tuttobene.

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, June 18, 2018 from 5:00 to 9:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass on Friday, June 22, 2018 at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township.  Interment will follow in Brigadier General William C.
