Obituary of Concetta Pondaco

Concetta Pondaco, 89, of Howell passed away on Monday, June 18, 2018 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township.  She was born in Trivigno, Prov. di Potenza, Italy and came to the United States in 1948.  Concetta lived in Perth Amboy, Plainfield, and Piscataway before settling in Howell in 1979.  She worked as a seamstress at Maidenform in Perth Amboy until marrying her husband. Raising her family was the work that she took most pride in, but she also worked for Lintex in Freehold Boro until her retirement.  Concetta was a parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Farmingdale and enjoyed playing bingo at the Church of St. Veronica in Howell. She took great pride in her home and her flower garden. Concetta had a passion for sewing, but most of all she was a devoted wife, loving mother, and doting grandma.

Concetta was predeceased by her husband, Phillip Pondaco; three brothers, Joseph, Anthony, and Freddy; and two sisters, Angela and Maria.  She is survived by her three sons, Dominick Pondaco of Howell, Frank Pondaco and his wife, Alison Manzi of Howell, and Philip Pondaco, Jr. of Howell; two grandchildren, Frankee and Nicole Pondanco; and canine companions, Bruno, Felicia, and Titan.

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, June 24, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Monday, June 25, 2018 at 9:00 AM for the procession to her 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 31 Asbury Road, Farmingdale.  Entombment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, Neptune.
