Obituary of Stella Panagos

Stella Panagos, 99, of Bayville passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Community Medical Center, Toms River.  She was born and raised in Brooklyn and had lived in Flushing, Queens before settling in Freehold in 1979.  Stella was a homemaker and great cook.  Her specialty food was pasticho, stuffed cabbage, and avgolemono soup.  Stella was a quiet woman and liked to keep to herself but was proud to be from Brooklyn and of her Greek heritage.

Stella was predeceased by her husband, Gus Panagos in 1979; son, George Panagos in 1995 and his wife, Laura Panagos in 2017; brother, Louis Panagos; and daughter-in-law, Sofia Panagos in 1991.  She is survived by her son, James Panagos and his wife, Maria Malangone of Bayville; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and sister, Diamond Marropodi of Freehold.

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, July 20, 2018 from 1:00 to 4:30 PM with her funeral service to follow at 4:30 PM.
