Obituary of Margaret M. Conte
Margaret M. “Bunny” Conte, 74, of Jackson passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. She was born in Utica, NY, raised in the Westerleigh Section of Staten Island and had lived in the Eltingville Section of Staten Island. Bunny moved to Freehold Township in 1979 where she remained until taking up residence at Four Seasons at South Knolls in 2006. She worked at the US Customs Office in NYC prior to being a stay-at-home mom, and after her children grew up, she worked as a teacher’s aide at Marshall Errickson Elementary School. Bunny was a dear friend to many and won the hearts of all who met her. Her hobbies included retail therapy, and British murder mysteries. She was a talented cook who enjoyed craft making and loved her tchotchkes. Bunny was a devoted mother to her children and a doting “Gramu” to her grandchildren, and will be missed beyond measure.
She was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Louis R. Conte in 2017. Bunny is survived by her three children, Christine Conte of Jackson, Louis V. Conte of Lake Hopatcong, and Gary Conte and his wife, Terri of Rockaway; two grandchildren, Louis T. Conte and Emma M. Conte; five siblings, Janet Badolato of Virginia Beach, Dorothy Luciano of Scotch Plains, Donna Edwards of Virginia Beach, John Barone of Matawan and Paul Barone of Staten Island; and numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at 9:00 AM for the procession to her 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township. Interment will follow in St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont, PA.
