Obituary of William Russell Hall
William Russell Hall, 96, of Farmingdale passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2018 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. He was a lifelong resident of Farmingdale. William worked for the Karagheusian Rug Mill in Freehold for 18 years and was a United States Army Veteran, serving in World War II. He also worked as a warehouse supervisor at the Laird & Company distillery in Colts Neck for 18 years, retiring in 1984. William was a member of the Farmingdale Fire Company for 70 years and a past chief in 1962. He was a member of the Farmingdale First Methodist Church and American Legion Post #54, Freehold.
William was predeceased by his parents, Chester and Eva Hall and his sister, June Fleming. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary L. Hall of Farmingdale; children, James H. Hall and his wife, Barbara of Wall and Leslie Dempsey and her husband, John of Wayside; step daughter, Linda Houseal and her husband, Robert of Brielle; grandchildren, Glenn, Steven, Douglas, John, William, Pia, Garett, and Alexa; and 9 great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 11:00 AM funeral service at the funeral home on Thursday, August 2, 2018. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Farmingdale.
