Obituary of Rinaldo Olivieri
Loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather Rinaldo Olivieri, formerly of Staten Island, N.Y., passed away on August 11, 2018 at his home in Freehold, N.J. Born in Cantalupo, Italy, Rinaldo immigrated to America in 1947 and settled in Brooklyn, N.Y. He met his faithful wife of 59 years, Yolanda Olivieri, née Marsillo, in 1955 and they moved to Staten Island in 1963. After 54 years, Rinaldo and Yolanda moved to New Jersey to be closer to their children. His family was the most important thing in his life, and from his hilarious mispronunciation of words to his fascinating life stories, he was the primary basis of entertainment at every family gathering. He had an enduring, cheerful, and proud personality, and generous and thoughtful heart, and was known to make friends everywhere he went. He enjoyed the simple things in life like reading the newspaper, watching the news, going grocery shipping, dancing, playing music, conversing with strangers and loved-ones alike, and the occasional trip down to Atlantic City. He was respected and beloved by all who knew him and we will be deeply missed, Rinaldo is predeceased by his mother, Bambina Oliveri, and is survived by his wife, Yolanda, his daughters, Maria DeMeno and her husband, Mark, and Joanna Giannettino and her husband, Michael, his son, Rinaldo Olivieri and his wife, Majilinda, his grandchildren, Michael and his wife, Stacy, Alissa, Mark Anthony, Oliverta, Adrianna, Charles, and Daniel, and his great-granddaughter, Sara.
