Obituary of Richard Lee Dusch
Richard Lee “Rick” Dusch, 71, of Farmingdale passed away at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune on Saturday, August 18, 2018. Rick was born, raised and lived in DuBois, PA. He served in the United States Navy as a radar specialist aboard the USS Dynamic during the Vietnam War. Upon returning home, Rick began his working career at Brockway Glass Company and then was transferred for work to Pomona, CA and finally Freehold, NJ. He settled in Farmingdale, NJ in 1987. Retiring from Brockway Glass, Rick then went on to become the Supervisor of the Department of Public Works for the Borough of Farmingdale for twenty-five years retiring in 2012. He was a deer hunter and returned home to Pennsylvania every November to hunt. Rick was a member of the American Legion, Post 178 Farmingdale. He enjoyed the simple life, especially walking the Ocean Grove boardwalk with his love, Carolyn.
Rick is survived by his loving companion of 19 years, Carolyn Reid and her son, Steven Reid of Farmingdale; two sons, Richard Ira Dusch and his wife, Tracey of Brockway, PA, and Jeffrey Allen Dusch; a grandson, Zachary Siple of Pittsburgh, PA; three aunts, Patricia Pago of Sligo, PA, Emma Dusch of Hamburg, NY and Lillian Dusch of Lakeland, FL; and many cousins.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 11:00 AM funeral service at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 22, 2018. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Howell.
