Obituary of Constance Raiola

Constance “Connie” Raiola, 78, of Freehold Township passed away on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at home.  She was born and raised in Brooklyn and had lived in the New Springville section of Staten Island before moving to Freehold Township in 2015.  Connie worked as an underwriter for over 20 years at Zurich North American in Manhattan, retiring in 2007.  She was a former parishioner of both the Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Brooklyn and the Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Staten Island. Connie was an avid reader of romance novels and always kept up with her stories on T.V.  She loved to cook and her trips to Atlantic City.  Her greatest joy was being at home with her family and spending time with her twin granddaughters. 

Connie was predeceased by her son, Michael Raiola; and her brother, Gerard Commorata.  She is survived by her two daughters, Michele Raiola of Freehold Township, and Janice Dalton and her husband, Scott of Freehold Township; twin granddaughters, Katie and Ashley; a sister, Geraldine Colburn of Oneonta, NY; a brother, Joseph Commorata of upstate New York; faithful canine companion, Juliette; and her parrot, Kiko.

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road, Freehold Township on Monday, September 3, 2018 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at 9:00 AM for the procession to her 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township.  Interment will follow in St. Charles Cemetery, 2015 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale, NY.  For information, directions, or condolence messages to the family, visit www.claytonfuneralhome.com.
