Obituary of Rose Brown McCreary

Rose Brown McCreary, 88, of Jackson, NJ passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township, NJ.  Rose was born in Forest City, PA, raised in Philadelphia, and had lived in Hatboro, PA and Willow Grove, PA.  She just recently moved to Jackson, NJ in 2016.  Rose worked as a secretary in the accounting field for various companies throughout the Philadelphia Area.  Having a love for crafts and floral arrangements, she worked for Leroy’s Florist in Hatboro, PA.  Rose also did administrative work for Armstrong Heating, Hatboro, PA and Smith-Kline, Horsham, PA until her retirement.  She was a former parishioner of both St. John Bosco, Hatboro, PA and St. John of the Cross, Roslyn, PA.  Rose was currently a parishioner of the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, Freehold Township, NJ where her son-in-law is a Deacon.  She had passion for the sport of Bowling and enjoyed volunteering at Abington Memorial Hospital.  Rose was a devoted wife, loving mother, doting grandmother and adoring great grandmother.  

Rose was predeceased by her first husband, William C. Brown and her second husband, Thomas W. McCreary, Sr.; her daughter, Gloria R. Benney; five brothers; and four sisters.  She is survived by her daughter, Debra J. Weber and her husband, Francis of Freehold Township, NJ; five grandchildren, Christopher Benney and his wife, Trish of East Longmeadow, MA, Michael Weber of Brookhaven, PA, Renee Weber of East Windsor, NJ, David Benney and his wife, Lauren of Pittsburgh, PA, and Elizabeth Benney of Howell, NJ; a great grandson, Lucas Geffon; two  stepsons, Thomas W. McCreary, Jr. of Willow Grove, PA and James McCreary of Hatboro, PA; and many nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township, NJ on Thursday, September 27, 2018 from 5:00 to 9:00 PM.  Relatives and friends may gather at the funeral home on Friday, September 28, 2018 at 9:00 AM for the procession to her 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township, NJ.  Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem, PA.  For those who desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N.
