Obituary of Joseph A. Marino
Joseph A. Marino, 89, of Freehold Township passed away at home on Monday, October 15, 2018. He was born and raised in Harlem, NY and had lived in Staten Island before settling in Freehold Township in 1995. Joseph was a proud veteran of the US Army, and after serving his country, he worked as a technician for Chelsea Birch Optics in Manhattan. During his marriage, he was fortunate to travel throughout Europe and the United States with his wife. Joseph was a sports enthusiast who could be found watching football, baseball and hockey. Joseph’s hobbies included fishing and going to the racetrack. His granddaughters meant the world to him, and he loved nothing more than enjoying a nice glass of wine with his granddaughter, Kelly, and eating spaghetti that he called twirlers when he joked with his granddaughter, Shannon.
Joseph is survived by his wife, Concetta “Connie” Marino of Freehold Township; daughter, Nancy Murphy and her husband, William of Englishtown; son, Anthony Marino and his wife, Luanne; and two granddaughters, Kelly Murphy of Englishtown and Shannon Murphy of Brooklyn.
A memorial gathering will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Saturday, October 20, 2018 from 12:00 to 3:30 PM with his memorial service to follow.
