Obituary of Marilyn Ann Kaempffer Ervin
Marilyn Ann Kaempfter Ervin, 82, of Odessa, Washington passed away on Friday, October 19, 2018 surrounded by the love of her family. She was born in East Orange and had lived in Englishtown and Freehold Township before moving to Maine and then Washington. Marilyn worked as a quality manager and benefits trainer for over 30 years at 3M and volunteered at Freehold Area Hospital and in the Deborah Heart and Lung Center’s resale shop.
In her final years, Marilyn struggled with dementia. The disease made her world smaller and robbed her of those things she loved to do most, like cooking, crocheting, baking and traveling. In fleeting moments of clarity, Marilyn would recognize her family and especially loved time spent with them.
Marilyn is survived by her children, Thomas Kaempffer and his wife, Paula of Minnesota, and Richard Ervin and his wife, Brenda of Washington; grandchildren, Martha Kaempffer, Carleigh Ervin and Christopher Ervin of Washington, and Caitlin Ervin of Montana; brothers, William Kaempffer and his wife, Natalie of Virginia and Charles Kaempffer and his wife, Carolyn of New Jersey; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, November 11, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 10:30 AM graveside funeral service on Monday, November 12, 2018 at Old Tennent Cemetery, 454 Tennent Road, Manalapan, NJ.
