Obituary of Lorraine Trenery

Lorraine Trenery nee Gorski, 70, of the Ramtown section of Howell Township, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday evening, November 4, 2018 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.  She began her life in Jersey City before moving to Iselin where she spent the majority of her youthful and formative years.  After graduating from Jersey City State College with a degree in education, Lorraine eventually settled down in Iselin and began to raise a family of her own.  In 1994, she moved to   Howell Twp.  Over the next 24 years, Lorraine worked diligently to transform her home into a beautiful, warm, and welcoming place.  A testament to the type of person she truly was.

Lorraine dedicated 30 plus years of her life to inspiring and educating students as a grade school teacher, fulfilling her childhood dreams.  Her professional career began at St Francis school in Metuchen.  Lorraine then taught for Woodbridge Township Public School System at both the Ross Street School # 11 and the Woodbine Avenue School #23.  After a long and fulfilling career as an educator, she retired in 2009 to devote her time and energy to being a new grandma.  A role, Lorraine took immense pride and joy in.

Anyone fortunate enough to know her would agree she was a kind, creative, thoughtful, and courageous soul.  Lorraine was a loving, loyal, and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who touched many lives.

Lorraine is survived by her husband of 26 years, Joseph Trenery of Howell; children, Michael Valvano of Howell and Jessica Martin of Howell; granddaughters, Dylin Martin and Kaia Martin; a brother, Edward Gorski and his wife, Jackie of Lakewood; and sisters, Carol Baran and her husband, Dr. David Baran of Virginia and Marilyn Mastorides and her husband, Dr. Steve Mastorides of Florida.

A  visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to gather at 10:00 AM on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at the Funeral Home for the procession to her 11:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church, 31 Asbury Road, Farmingdale.  Interment will be private.  For those who desire, memorial contributions in Lorraine’s name may be made to the Susan G.
