Obituary of Dr. Sri Sailam Vardha
Dr. Sri Sailam Vardha, 75, of Freehold Township passed away suddenly at home on Saturday, December 1, 2018. He was born and raised in India, moving to the United States in 1971. Dr. Sailam was a true self-made man, completing his residency in Baltimore, Maryland after moving to the United States with just 8 dollars to his name. He served honorably in the Unites States Army as a physician at Fort Dix from 1980 to 1983. Along with his wife, Prema, Dr. Sailam settled in Freehold Township in 1986 to raise his family. He worked as a surgeon at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank for over 30 years. Dr. Sailam was an avid car collector, most proud of his red Magnum P.I. 1985 Ferrari. Most importantly, he was a proud patriot, devoted husband, and a loving father, grandfather, and dear friend.
Dr. Sailam is survived by his wife of 48 years, Prema Sailam of Freehold Township; children, Vivek Sailam and his wife, Smruti of Moorestown and Krish Sailam and his wife, Ilona of San Fransico; grandchildren, Tarah, Simha, Rajah, Leelah, and Arvo; seven siblings; and his lifelong friend, John Williamson.
