Obituary of Paula Russo
Paula Russo, 75, of Freeholdl passed away at home surrounded by her family and friends on Saturday, December 8, 2018. She was born and raised in Brooklyn, and had lived in the Annadale section of Staten Island before settling here in 2016. Paula worked as the manager of Fotomat in Staten Island, and later worked in daycare for many years until her retirement in 2016. She enjoyed sunbathing, interior decorating, and traveling, and could always be counted on to put on a pot of coffee. Paula found great pleasure in retail therapy, though her greatest joy in life was spending time with friends and family.
She was predeceased by her first husband, John Lamirata in 1968; her second husband, John Russo in 1997; a son, John Russo, Jr. in 1994; a sister, Theresa Manzi; and a brother, Rosario Bracco. Paula is survived by her children, Gina Guerra and her husband, Gaetano “Tom” Guerra of Howell, Michael James Russo and his husband, Don Hoffman of New York City, and Steven Russo and his wife, Alisa Russo of Hazlet; five grandchildren, Christiana, Caryssa, Gabriella, John and Steven; great grandchild, Cole; sister, Maureen Vatalaro of VA; brother-in-law, John Manzi of Manchester; a sister-in-law, Mary Bracco of East Rockaway, NY; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Gathering will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 8:30 PM with her funeral service to follow at 8:30 PM.
