Obituary of Jo-Ann Roman

Jo-Ann Roman, 57, of Jackson passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus, Lakewood.  Jo-Ann was born in Brooklyn and raised in Manhattan.  She moved to Staten Island where she met her husband at the age of 13, and eventually settled in Jackson in 2007.    She worked as a school bus driver for First Student, Neptune since 2008.  Jo-Ann was a very loving woman who welcomed everyone in to her family, and kept family traditions going.  Her hobbies included ceramics, party planning and trips to Atlantic City.  Jo-Ann, through her husband, was involved with the Richmond Masonic Association and dedicated her time to various charity events. 

She was predeceased by her father, Jose Gonzalez.  Jo-Ann leaves behind her husband of 27 years, Anthony Roman of Jackson; three children, Danielle Mendez and her husband, Michael of South Plainfield, Anthony M. Roman of Jackson, and Alexis Roman of Jackson; two grandchildren, Alexandra and Michael; mother, Minerva Dubuss of Rumson; brother, Joseph Gonzalez and his wife, Nancy Sotomayor-Gonzalez of Howell; godson and nephew, Timothy Joseph Gonzalez; niece, Brittany Gonzalez; half-brothers, Joey Gonzalez, Jr. and Christopher Gonzalez and half-sister, Maria Gonzalez. 

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, December 17, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 16 McLean Street, Freehold.  Interment will follow in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery, Freehold.  For information, directions or condolence messages to the family, visit www.claytonfuneralhome.com
