Obituary of Michael Stark
MICHAEL W. STARK, MD, FACP, 52, of the Perrineville section of MILLSTONE TOWNSHIP, died Sunday, Oct. 28, at home. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. and had lived in Lake Success, N.Y., Long Island and Old Bridge before moving to Millstone Township in 1997. Dr. Stark had many hobbies including photography, fishing in Alaska, hunting, computers and playing golf. He served on the advisory boards of several medical publications. Dr. Stark, who maintained his medical practice in Manalapan for the past 20 years, was on the Medical Staff of CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township, where he served as Chief of Staff and was also a member of the Board of Trustees. He also was on the staff of Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune.
He was predeceased by his birth parents, Shirley and Stanley Stark, MD; and two sisters, Willi Meacham and Sharon Shapiro. He was also predeceased by his grandfather, Abe Stark, who was the Borough President of Brooklyn for many years and served as the president of the New York City Council under Mayor Wagner. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Cynthia Stark; a daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Robert Fletcher of Yardville; a son, Jason Adams of Lower Berkshire Valley; two grandchildren of whom he was very proud, Alexis and Robert Fletcher; his adoptive parents, Isadore and Ronnie Haliczer; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Arthur and Lynn Haliczer, and Abe and Patricia Haliczer; his mother-in-law, Darlene Morgan; two sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Linda and Frank Barlow, Willa Autry, and Ahmed Halima, MD; and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road, Freehold Township. Friends and relatives are invited to attend his funeral service at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Rabbi Donald Weber officiating. Entombment to follow in Monmouth Memorial Park, Tinton Falls.
