Mrs. Thornton was my son Tom's teacher in her last class at Colts Neck Church. He is the one who (for reasons I never understood) wrote "E=MC2" on her quilt that year. He remains close to several of her students that year - Glenn Brunneli, Brendan Ballentine, and others. All have grown to become good, intelligent, hardworking members of the community. I think a lot of that is due to Mrs.Thorton. Tom got his degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Colorado and is now a performance engineer with Penske racing in North Carolina. I am so sorry for your loss.
I am so sorry to hear about Gloria's passing. She was my nursery school teacher so many years ago in the early 80's and to this day I can still remember her love and kindness that she gave me. In later years I loved getting to say hello when I would see her in Applewood while visiting my grandparents. Sending prayers and fond memories of a really great lady!
So sorry to her about Gloria's death. She lived a long and productive life. I had the honor of being the pastor at the Colts Neck Reformed Church when she served as director of the Cooperative Nursery School. Both of our girls attended and loved Gloria. So gracious and an excellent educator. What I remember most is her memory. Years after Jamie and Rachel graduated from Nursery School she would greet them by name and recite their birthdays. Amazing woman who will be missed. Blessing to you and your families.
