Obituary of Dorothy B. Langabee

Dorothy B. Langabee, 93, of Howell, formerly of Bayonne, passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2018 surrounded by her loving family at Bartley Healthcare, Jackson. She was born and raised in Bayonne and had retired to Barnegat along with her husband before moving to Howell in 1998 to be with her family. Dorothy had worked at Western Electric in Kearny and retired from Colgate-Palmolive in Jersey City. She volunteered her time at the Barnegat Rehabilitation and Nursing Center and enjoyed reading to children during library hour at the Ocean County Library in Barnegat. Dorothy was also a member of the V.F.W. Post 226 in Bayonne.  She loved word searches, bowling, and dancing with her grandchildren.

Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Howard Langabee in 1996; three brothers; six sisters; and her canine companion, Nikkia.  She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Caprarulo of Arkansas and Deborah Dombrowski and her husband, John of Freehold; four grandchildren, Nicole Dombrowski, Kimberly Dombrowski, Kelly Dombrowski, and Anthony Caprarulo; great granddaughter, Aaliyah Caprarulo; sisters; Barbara Ellsworth and Patricia Squires; brother, Francis Squires; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home at 9:00 AM on Thursday, January 3, 2019 for the procession to her 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township. Interment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, 283 Beachview Avenue, Manahawkin, 08050.
