Obituary of Francis X. Carillo
Francis X. Carillo, 85, of Toms River passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. Known to all as “Pappy”, Frank was born, raised and had lived in Brooklyn before settling in New Jersey 12 years ago. After serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, Frank went to work for the New York City Police Department, eventually rising to the rank of Detective Sergeant. His hobbies included art and poetry. The life of the party, Frank had the gift of gab and his favorite topic was his grandchildren as he loved to sing their praises. In retirement he was a member of the Jersey Shore 10-13 Association, an organization of retired and active members of the NYPD.
Frank leaves behind to mourn his loss daughters, Marie Parker and her husband, Richard of Alexandria, VA, and Francine Calabro and her husband, Richard Seegobin of Farmingdale; four grandchildren, Daniel Calabro, AJ Calabro, Christopher Seegobin and Treana Seegobin; and sister, Marie “Jo” Messina and her husband, John of New York City; nephew, Robert Messina; and nieces, Joanne Messina and Corinne Sideli and her husband, James.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, January 13, 2019 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 10:00 AM Memorial Mass at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 31 Asbury Road, Farmingdale on Monday, January 14, 2019.
