Obituary of Marianna Morreale

Marianna “Anna” Morreale, 83, of Howell passed away surrounded by her loved ones at Ocean Medical Center, Brick on Thursday, January 17, 2019.  Born in Porto Empedocle, Sicily, Italy, Anna immigrated to the United States in 1957 and lived in Brooklyn until 2012 when she settled here.  A former parishioner of Saint Finbar Catholic Church in Brooklyn, she was involved in the Marion Rosary Society, Sacred Heart Society, Saint Francis of Assisi Society and the choir.  Those who knew Anna will remember her happy and laughing.  She made friends wherever she went.  Anna loved to cook, and could always be counted on to the put on a pot of coffee. 

She was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, John Morreale in 1998.  Anna is survived by her sons, Dr. Diego Morreale and his wife, Dr. Mary Polizzi of Wall, Joseph Morreale and his wife, Patty of Freehold Township, and John Morreale and his wife, Janine of Freehold Township; and four grandchildren, Giovanni Morreale, Deanna Morreale, John M. Morreale and John J. Morreale.

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, January 20,^, 2019 and Monday, January 21,^, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. William the Abbot Catholic Church, 2740 Allenwood Lakewood Road, Howell, NJ 07731 on Tuesday, January 22, 2019.  Entombment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, 360 Sharrott Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10309.  For information, directions or condolence messages to the family, visit www.claytonfuneralhome.com
