Obituary of Rocco Scutaro
Rocco Scutaro, 85, of Howell passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was born and raised in Brooklyn and had lived in Manalapan before settling in Howell in 2018. Rocco was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. He worked as a dispatcher for transportation companies in Brooklyn, retiring in 2015. Rocco was also drafted for the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1949. Rocco enjoyed drinking martinis, rooting for the New York Yankees, and making stuffed mushrooms and chicken marsala. He was a hard worker and loving father, grandfather and friend. Rocco will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Rocco is survived by his children, Michael Scutaro of Pennsylvania, Rocco C. Scutaro and his husband, Philip Merola of Freehold Township, and Carolanne Scutaro and her husband, Jason Silverstein of Howell; three grandchildren, Austin, Sean, and AnnaRose; sister, Bernadette Scutaro of Milan, NY; and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. A graveside service will take place on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at 11:00 AM in The Evergreens Cemetery, 1629 Bushwick Avenue, Brooklyn.
