Obituary of Robert Haemmerle

Robert “Bob” Haemmerle, 75, of Howell passed away on Monday, February 4, 2019 at home.  He was born in Jersey City and raised in North Bergen.  Bob had lived in Brooklyn before settling in Howell in 1974.  He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1964 to 1966 during the Cold War. Bob worked in the IT department for Time Inc., Manhattan for 25 years.  In his retirement, he was as a Real Estate Broker Associate for Century 21.  Bob was a 4th Degree Knight at the Knights of Columbus, Council #6201, Jackson and a Chaplain at the Howell Elks Lodge #2515.  He was an Usher and on the Board of Parish Activities at the Church of St. Veronica in Howell.  Along with his wife, Terri, he was also a Festival Coordinator for the church from 1988 to 1991.  Bob was Mr. Fix It and loved DIY projects around the house.  He enjoyed gardening, traveling, and most importantly, spending time with his family. 

Bob was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Elsie Haemmerle.  He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Theresa A. Haemmerle of Howell; sons, Steven Haemmerle and his wife, Kimberly of Huntersville, NC and Mark Haemmerle and his wife, Kristy of New Egypt; four grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua, Colton, and Beckham; brothers, Richard Haemmerle and his wife, Santina of Massapequa, Long Island and Dennis Haemmerle and his wife, Christine of Forked River; and many nieces and nephews. 

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, February 10, 2019 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 9:30 AM Funeral Mass on Monday, February 11, 2019 at the Church of St. Veronica, 4215 Route 9, Howell 07731. Interment will follow in Brigadier General William C.
